At the end of 2024, my husband and I felt called by God to move our family to East Texas. We prayed for community, belonging, and a place to call home — and the Lord answered in the sweetest way.
As someone who has been gluten-free since 2022, I know how hard it can be to find treats that feel truly special. After meeting new friends with dietary needs of their own, I started baking recipes we could all enjoy together. That's how these gluten-free, plant-based sourdough chocolate chip cookies came to life.

From Dough to Oven
Four steps. That's genuinely all it takes.
- 1Preheat your oven to 350°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
- 2Place dough portions on the sheet, spacing about 2 inches apart to give them room to spread.
- 3Bake for 14–16 minutes.All ovens run a little different — start peeking at 13 min.
- 4Rest on the pan for 5 full minutes before moving. Cookies keep cooking as they sit — this step is not optional.
Look for edges that are lightly golden and just barely pulling away from the pan, with a top that looks matte and set — no glossy wet center. The middle should feel just slightly soft. That's exactly where you want it. Carryover heat on the pan finishes the job — pull early and trust the rest.
